Zugvögel sind Wirte für eine Vielzahl von Parasiten. Die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Wirten und ihren Parasiten sind komplex. Die Überwachung des Infektionsstatus, des physiologischen Status und des Verhaltens des Wirtes im Jahresverlauf werden durch die Migration zusätzlich erschwert. Unser Ziel ist es, Lücken in unserem Wissen über die Auswirkungen von Parasiten auf Zugvögel als Wirte zu schliessen. Dazu stellen wir uns folgende Fragen: Welche Auswirkungen haben Parasiten auf ihre Wirte? Wie hängen diese Auswirkungen von der saisonabhängigen Schwere der Infektion ab und wie lange halten ihre Effekte an? Wie sind die verschiedenen Auswirkungen mechanistisch gekoppelt?
