Living in the crowd – a longitudinal study in a social colonial and migratory breeder

By using an 8+ years data set you find and compare fundamental demographic parameters of bee-eaters at colony level like colony size, age composition, immigrations etc and at the individual level like age at first breeding, life span, annual survival, pair bond and pair formation within the focal colony etc.  Auxiliary data from ongoing individual tracking can help to identify groups of birds within the colony which lived together in parts of the annual cycle.

Requirements: Pronounced interest in ecology, especially life history. Good skills in data management, basics in statistics (using R). Languages: German and/or English.
