      Information

The Pink-backed Pelican is widely distributed in Africa. Birds occurring in Europe are generally considered to have escaped from captivity. The Pink-backed Pelican can be distinguished from the similar Great White Pelican by its larger plumes on the head and by its greyer plumage. The Pink-backed Pelican has a wingspan of up to 2.4 metres.
