To begin with, it benefitted by the newly formed breeding habitats in towns, however, with an increase in built-up areas and sealing of areas rich in wild herbs and insects, the Crested Lark disappeared once more. Nowadays there is less horse manure and a massive use of fertilizers and pesticides which also greatly diminish their food resource.
