During the breeding season, it mostly inhabits forests. In winter, especially, it can be observed intowns and villages, where songbirds are an easy prey at bird tables. Here, however, they run the risk of colliding with glass walls and windows. Songbirds often draw attention to the enemy with piercing warning calls.
