Les oiseaux migrateurs sont porteurs de très nombreux parasites. Il est difficile de comprendre les mécanismes qui sous-tendent les interactions entre l’hôte et le parasite, car la nature itinérante des migrateurs complique leur suivi et la surveillance de l’infection, de l’état physiologique et du comportement. Nous souhaitons combler nos lacunes concernant les effets des parasites sur les oiseaux migrateurs hôtes en répondant aux questions suivantes : quelles sont les conséquences des parasites sur leurs hôtes de l’espèce d’oiseau ? Dans quelle mesure ces conséquences dépendent-elles de la gravité d’une infection saisonnière et combien de temps durent-elles ? De quelle manière différentes conséquences sont-elles liées mécanistiquement ?
