L’intensificazione dell’agricoltura ha portato la civetta sull’orlo dell’estinzione. Mentre nei paesi confinanti sono state portate avanti misure di promozione che hanno sostenuto una rapida crescita, le popolazioni svizzere si riprendono solo lentamente. Il nostro progetto di ricerca studia i fattori ecologici chiave che influiscono sulla salute degli individui e la demografia della civetta. Con l’applicazione di trasmettitori ad alcuni individui ed esperimenti sul campo si studiano in particolare le esigenze degli habitat sul successo riproduttivo, il tasso di sopravvivenza e la migrazione.
