Nous développons des modèles (de simulation) afin d’identifier les facteurs et les signaux déterminant le choix du site d’étape et les calendriers de migration des oiseaux migrateurs. Nous examinons notamment le rôle de la disponibilité des ressources alimentaires (qualité, quantité et moment), ainsi que d’autres paramètres spécifiques au site, dans la décision de commencer ou de reprendre la migration. Nous comparons les prévisions des modèles aux données empiriques de migration. En outre, l’extension de ces modèles migratoires au statut infectieux des oiseaux nous permet d’étudier le rôle de la migration dans la diffusion et la dynamique de maladies telles que la grippe aviaire.
