Sebbene la ricerca medica abbia ormai innegabilmente dimostrato che l’esposizione allo stress, in particolare nelle prime fasi della vita, può avere effetti negativi sulla salute e quindi sulla riproduzione e la sopravvivenza negli animali, resta ancora molto da fare per dimostrare come i fattori di stress antropogenici (ad esempio il cambiamento climatico e lo stress da calore, l’inquinamento chimico o luminoso, i disturbi) influenzino la salute degli uccelli selvatici.
