Die medizinische Forschung hat inzwischen zweifelsfrei bewiesen, dass Stress – insbesondere in jungen Jahren – negative Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit und somit auf die Fortpflanzung und das Überleben von Tieren haben kann. Dennoch bleibt noch viel zu tun, um nachzuweisen, wie vom Menschen verursachte Stressfaktoren (z. B. Klimawandel und Hitzestress, chemische oder Lichtverschmutzung, Störungen) die Gesundheit von Wildvögeln beeinflussen.
