La comprensione della demografia, dei movimenti e della fenologia degli uccelli costituisce la base cruciale di qualsiasi azione di conservazione delle specie. Un impegno a lungo termine su base volontaria per marcare singoli uccelli ha fornito una ricca gamma di dati basati su cattura, marcatura e ricattura, con informazioni inestimabili su questi processi. In questo progetto utilizziamo metodi statistici moderni per ricavare informazioni da diverse fonti di dati al fine di studiare le mutazioni a lungo termine e le variazioni spaziali in termini di demografia, movimento e fenologia di numerose specie di uccelli in Svizzera e oltre.
