In the publication “Vogelmonitoring”, the Swiss Ornithological Institute presents the latest results from its monitoring projects, in which over 2,000 volunteers in all regions of the country are involved. Highlights for 2025 include the 60th anniversary of the waterbird counts, the replacement of the Eurasian Chaffinch as Switzerland’s most common breeding bird by the Eurasian Blackcap, and mounting evidence that the Black Stork could soon be added to the list of Switzerland’s breeding birds.
