Brief research statement:

“My research focus is on avian migration, where my broad interests in biological rhythms and ornithology converge. I study migration as part of the annual cycle and am keenly interested in the seasonal environments that shape it on a global scale. I use research tools as needed, ranging from molecular biology to radar technology, and pay particular attention to avian physiology and behaviour. In applied context, I’m particularly concerned about effects of light pollution on biological rhythms and migration. I also explore how wild organisms adjust their ancient migration behaviour to rapid environmental change.”
